The gallery is exploring a new direction for itself and, more broadly, in the market – the collectible design of Russian authors.
December 6, 2019 - March 28, 2020

Russian Collectible

Very different authors - Darya Belyakova, Denis Milovanov, Olga Treivas, Vera Odyn, Vadim Kibardin, as well as Igor Chelkovski, Timofey Parchikov, and Dunya Zakharova - share one thing: "born in Russia." But that is enough to give birth to a new theme.
For contemporary design and art, the merging of contrasting temporal and genre concepts is characteristic. The sharper the mix, the more spectacular it looks in a collection. Mixing does not imply dissonance or rupture. Harmony can be built on rhymes that arise from the form, material, or style of the authors. In the exhibition, the objects of the non-conformist artist Shelkovsky coexist with the graphic and intellectual design of Darya Belyakova. The material things of Denis Milovanov and Vadim Kibardin coexist with the emotional objects of Olga Treivas, Vera Odyn, and Dunya Zaharova.
Contemporary Russian design is multifaceted and inherently international. It does not carry the same "Russian-ness" as in the understanding of the past century. Its foundation is not folk decorative and applied art but modernism of the highest order.

The gallery is venturing into a new area for itself and in the broader market - the collectible design of Russian authors. "Modern & contemporary" is the most accurate reflection of the gallery's current specialization, aptly combining design objects and abstract art from the second half of the 20th century with works by contemporary designers and artists.
